Unit 3. Lesson 3- Envelope Distort in Typography

Essential Unit Question:
What is typography in art?

     Essential Lesson Question:
How can you the envelope distort function to create a typography design?


     Lesson Objective:
Given a tutorial on envelope distort, the student will research a saying or pun of their own and create a layout of it using envelope distort on Adobe Illustrator.

     Activity:
Students will complete a tutorial and project using envelope distort.  Each assignment will be submitted to turnitintomsw@gmail.com.
      
    Assessment:

1. Fish Tutorial.
2. Envelope Distort Project.

Download and save image-open in Adobe Illustrator:
Draw existing shapes on a new layer using the pen tool.
Type FEEL LIKE.
 Select the top object you drew for the fish.
Object-arange bring to front.
Select both the object and the text (keep in mind the text color needs to be changed before distorted).
Object-Envelope Distort- Make With Top Object.
 Repeat for the next pieces and complete the fish.
Delete the image layer so you are left with only the fish.
